The Association of Government Accounts Organizations of Asia (AGAOA) was founded in February 2004 at Colombo, Sri Lanka with 8 founding members i.e., Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan & Sri Lanka. Out of this, India, Nepal, Pakistan & Sri Lanka have ratified their membership to the Association. Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives & Myanmar are signatories to the Charter of the Association, but are yet to ratify their membership. Afghanistan attended the First Assembly of the Association in September 2004.
